collaboration with The Chess Academy.

4th ANNUAL GM YURY SHULMAN SUMMER
CHESS CAMP 2007
The 4rd annual summer chess camp was held June 11-15 at
Barrington High School. Thanks to 2006 US Champion
Alex Onischuk, and Tamara Golovey (GM Shulman's first chess coach) and
other camp staff for making this an exciting week for the children!
16TH ANNUAL CHICAGO OPEN
(May 2007)
This tournament was held on the heels of the 2007 US
Chess Championship. I tied for first place, but lost to Vadim Milov in the
blitz playoff.

FRANK F. BERRY US CHESS
CHAMPIONSHIP (May 2007)
Thank you for your support again, this time at the US
championship 2007! I tied for third place and qualified for the 2007 FIDE
World Championship. Alex Shabalov was crowned champion.

BARBARA ROSE CHESS TOURNAMENT (Feb-24-07)
Thank you for such a big turnout -- we had 102 participants!!! A portion of the proceeds
are being donated to charity.
BLINDFOLD SIMUL AT
BARRINGTON AREA LIBRARY (Nov-12-06)
Yury and several of his students challenged each other at the
Library to introduce chess to the community. Thanks to all those
students who volunteered their chess skills. It made for a good time!

BARRINGTON COUNTRYSIDE
TOURNAMENT (Nov-9-06)
We had a successful tournament with 137 kids participating! As
a result, we were able to make contributions to ASHA India and to Woodland
School, as well as donate chess sets to the Barrington Area Library.

TOURNAMENT (Aug-19-06)

3RD ANNUAL BARRINGTON SUMMER
CHESS CAMP 2006
The 3rd annual summer chess camp, held June 19-23 at
Barrington High School was a big success. Thanks to 2006 US Champion
Alex Onischuk, GM Gregory Kaidanov, and GM Novikov for their time and
effort!

team which won fourth place at the Chess Olympiad in Turin, Italy. For
